Prayer is most powerful when prayed in community. There are two types of prayer - Devotional and Liturgical.
Devotional Prayer includes such prayer rituals as the Rosary, the Stations of the Cross, Centering Prayer, etc. The goal of devotional prayer is to stir in us a great love for God and his church. Devotional prayer can be prayed individually or communally.
Liturgical Prayer is the official prayer of the Church, which includes all of the Sacramental Rites especially the Mass, Funerals, and the Liturgy of the Hours. The goal of liturgical prayer is to connect us to the prayer of Jesus. We stand with Jesus in prayer to the Father during Liturgical Prayer. In Liturgical Prayer, we broaden our concerns beyond ourselves to the needs of the whole Church. Liturgical prayer is prayed communally.
We have many prayer groups in our cluster. Please consider joining one.
